Tree Reading Series – Secretary
Tree is one of Canada’s longest running reading series having just celebrated it’s fortieth anniversary in 2020. Now moved online, due to COVID 19, Tree hopes to expand it’s mandate to highlight poets beyond the physical boundaries by which they were previously constrained.
Bywords – reader
Bywords is a online Ottawa poetry journal which has become the beating heart of the community in Ottawa. It started as a physical journal many years ago but when threatened with coming to an unfortunate end Amanda Earl kept it alive with a Herculean effort and has been running it since.
VII – member of the collective
VII is seven voices fused into one exquisite corpse: Manahil Bandukwala, Ellen Chang-Richardson, Conyer Clayton, nina jane drystek, Chris Johnson, Margo LaPierre and Helen Robertson. Based on the belief that seven minds are better than one and that many ideas make joyous chorus, we say: We are I and I is VII. Formed in March 2020, VII is based in Ottawa, Ontario, the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg First Nation. Our first chapbook is forthcoming with Collusion Books in Spring 2021.
